D.C. grows perfect green. The capital city has capital plants.

Welcome to the City of Scarlet Oak.

While surfing the USA, I have seen a great deal of green stuff. However, the elegance of the front gardens in November struck me with the utter feeling of color bursting! This time of year can be rather gloomy, in continental, inland regions especially. But all the rain, clouds, and fog D.C. brightens thanks to a great selection of native plants which presented this city at its best.

An obvious landscaping tradition and a good practice that less is more – gives the District of Columbia that special flair. It is a charm that every Capital deserves.

Houses, both White and regular ones have a carefully planned front garden. Designed to provide an excellent first impression – as good manners propose. Nicely composed trees, perennials, and late-flowering species like Chrysanthemum successfully beautify the street view thanks to ridiculously radiant autumn colors. Due to the long sunny and mild period and afterward moderate dampness and proper coldness, anthocyanin gives that crazy shade of purple-red, almost pink. So, once Fall officially starts, it literally kicks the chlorophyll out of chromoplasts. Golden and copper shades overlap with pink, crimson and purple. Such a shocking spectrum actually prepares both us humans, and local fauna too for coming winter and bare naked branches.

Yes, it is a fashionable trick to add Chrysanthemums, but besides flowering show-offs, there are few more guys to mention. Scarlet Oak, Ash, Dogwood, Maple, Hickory and Poplar are the true heroes setting up the scenery in parks, local forests, and arboretums. All you need is to stay true to the locals and your garden will repay you with tremendous autumn scenery and appropriate shading canopy during hot summer. themselves But there is a trick: local news reminds citizens it is time to help out their green friends pigment a bit stronger. Yes, they are adding some

Furthermore, D.C. is famous for its parks and public gardens.
